Terms of Service
The short version: You must be 13 or older to use Glyph Runner. GPS accuracy is not guaranteed — run safely and follow all traffic laws. Tokens have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Subscriptions are billed through Apple and renew automatically.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Glyph Runner mobile application (the "App") or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Accounts for users under 13 will be terminated upon discovery.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. GPS Safety
YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME ROUTE GUIDANCE APPLICATION IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. LOCATION DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE. Always remain aware of your physical surroundings. Obey all traffic laws, signals, and pedestrian regulations. Never use the App in a way that distracts you from safely navigating your environment. Glyph Runner is not responsible for any injury, accident, or incident arising from your use of the Service.
You acknowledge that:
- GPS accuracy varies based on device hardware, signal availability, weather, and physical obstructions. Route guidance is approximate and may not reflect current road or path conditions.
- You are solely responsible for your safety and the safety of others while using the Service during physical activity.
- You should consult a healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program, particularly if you have any health conditions.
- Running in traffic, on private property, or in areas where pedestrian access is restricted is your own responsibility to assess and manage.
4. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not use another user's account without permission, create accounts for unauthorized purposes, or use automated means to create accounts.
5. Token Economy
Glyph Runner includes a virtual token system ("Tokens") used within the App. You agree that:
- No cash value: Tokens have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash, credit, or anything of value outside the Service.
- Non-transferable: Tokens may not be transferred between accounts, sold, or traded.
- No guarantee of value: We reserve the right to modify the Token economy, including earn rates, redemption rates, and the items available for Token redemption, at any time without notice.
- Expiration: Tokens may expire or be forfeited if your account is inactive, suspended, or terminated.
- No refunds: Tokens are not refundable in cash or any other form.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
Glyph Runner offers optional paid subscriptions ("Pro") that unlock additional features. The following terms apply to all purchases:
- Pricing: Pro is available at $4.99/month, $39.99/year, or $89.99 as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are subject to change with advance notice.
- Billing: All purchases are processed through your Apple ID via the Apple App Store. Your Apple ID account will be charged upon purchase confirmation.
- Auto-renewal: Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription period.
- Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any party
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its related systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
- Upload or transmit viruses or other malicious code
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all content, features, functionality, design, and software, is owned by Glyph Runner and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8a. Photo Trace Feature — IP Restrictions
The Photo Trace feature allows you to upload an image and convert it into a route shape. You may only upload images for which you own the copyright or have explicit permission to use. The following restrictions apply:
- You may not upload images that incorporate trademarked characters, logos, or iconography belonging to third parties, including but not limited to characters owned by The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, or any other entertainment, sports, or media company.
- You may not upload images depicting real individuals without their consent.
- We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights without notice.
We claim no ownership over images you upload. You grant Glyph Runner a limited, non-exclusive license to process your uploaded images solely for the purpose of converting them into route shapes within the Service.
9. User-Generated Content
By sharing any content through the Service (including GPS art, routes, or profile information), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GLYPH RUNNER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Glyph Runner and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Glyph Runner regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
